Dear Friends,

     It was another sad report last week of the demise of the Monarch butterfly.  The good news is, every year our milkweed plant (this is what the butterflies need for food) numbers increase and they are starting to ‘hatch’ and fly around the farm.  It’s gratifying to think we can at least do our part for our natural world.

     Another reminder that we have gorgeous flowers again this spring and Mother’s Day is on the 8th.  We can deliver or you can come by the farm the Saturday before to pick up for that Sunday.

     Another spring delight is green garlic.  It’s a rather short lived harvest so let’s enjoy it while it’s here.  Those of you placing GreenStore orders will receive a bunch of them free this week.

I heard from one of our new shareholders last week that she had never seen a blood orange before.  She said when she cut it open it scared her because of the red color!  I assured her it was ok to eat and then she asked for more this week after she tried it.
