Dear Friends,

     Where’s the rain?  Farmers are eternal optimists (we have to be every time we plant a seed) and we’re still hoping for more rain.  Meanwhile, we’ve had to continue irrigating with the ever increasing cost of water and the results are showing with our spring flowers coming in.  The first sweet peas are appearing and I’ve put them on the Green Store : Flowers (just a few bunches) if you’d like to add them to your regular delivery.  Same thing with our Seabreeze chicken eggs.  The girls are starting to lay again and there’s nothing like a real egg for bright nutritious yolks and flavor.

     Another sign of Spring is asparagus.  They are amazing plants how they burst through the soil with such vigor.  I’ll be preparing mine this week by lightly steaming and serving with a fresh egg Hollandaise sauce.  This recipe is surprisingly fast and easy:
