Dear Friends,
Coaxing food and flowers from seed has got to be ‘up there’ as one of the most challenging (and rewarding) occupations there is. And not surprising, we use a lot of (very) expensive water. By now, we usually have received almost 3 inches of rain, although this year, zip. So we’re excited about the rain coming, but shocked to hear up to 6 inches in some areas is a possibility. Our main road to the farm is still damaged from last year and we have our fingers crossed it will hold!
We have wonderful shareholders. The best. Citrus season is just starting (can’t wait for juicy Valencia oranges) and we were gifted for this week, a bumper crop of Myer lemons from one of our long time members. She and her husband cut each lemon themselves. Thank you so much to the “G’s”!
Myer lemons are special. Here are some ideas to use them and enjoy:
Please feel free to call or email me if you have questions or need cooking tips.
May our food this week nourish, comfort and sustain you.
