May 2, 2016 Mother’s Day

If I had a flower for each time I thought of My Mother, I could walk in my garden forever.

Dear Friends,
Our lovely April has morphed into May and thank goodness, so far no heat waves like the last two years.
We’ve also been able to have our tour/classes/events liability insurance re-established, for more money of course.  Even though we’ve never had a claim or injury, no dangerous chemicals or equipment/machinery, farms, I guess, have a bad rap for insuring.
So, we’re going to have a pre-Mother’s Day farm affair this coming Saturday.  As most of you know, parking is very limited so we’ll need to organize through reservations.  The cost is $65 per car/unit (family or friends up to 4 persons) and we’ll have a beautiful large bouquet for you to take home.  I will be on site for greeting and questions and we’ll have extra staff as well.  Do hope you’ll join us.
I’ll be posting later on Seabreeze Organic Farm Meet-up (if you haven’t signed up for Farm Meet-up yet I recommend you do for events notices) but for shareholders, send me a quick email and you’ll have priority.
Ever over cooked broccoli?  Most of us have.  Here’s a quick and delicious way to prepare that will even have broccoli ‘hater’s’ like:
                                    Yum Broccoli
Volunteers welcome.  There’s always a million things to do on a farm..especially as it ‘ages’.  We’ve had some lovely and helpful people come for chores like picking edible flowers.  Here’s our ad on Craig’s List:  Seabreeze Volunteers
It’s not the farm the supports the community, it’s the community that supports the farm.
All on-line orders and referrals for new stakeholders welcomed and appreciated.
We’re always grateful for our loyal supporters.  This last food producing farm in Carmel Valley is important for a lot of reasons and donations always welcomed!
Hope you’re enjoying and benefiting from your deliveries.  A lot of old fashioned hard work and planning makes it possible.  And grown with love and care..of course.
Call or email me if you need cooking tips.  Happy to oblige.
