Dear Friends,
It’s early Monday and it’s a lovely early morning with fog enveloping the farm and the pair of owls that live in the area are still talking to each other from the eucalyptus trees. The ducks are squawking to be let out of their enclosure to go look for slugs and snails (yeah) and the roosters have been declaring the new day, as they always do, starting about 3:30am.
You might like suggestions for some of your items this week:
– Baby beets – these are mostly for their nutritious greens. We never tire of the simple way of sautéing these in a little butter or good olive oil, garlic, and a few hot pepper flakes and then tossing with hot cooked pasta and a little Parmesan cheese mixed in. Delicious side dish. Fast and easy.
– Napa cabbage – Napa is good in soups, stews, salads, rolled leaves..really quite versatile. Here’ a simple recipe you might like: Napa Cabbage Salad with Avocado and Tomato
– Baby bok choy – we sent just a small amount for you to try. Very nice flavor and easy to cook: Baby bok choy
