I use coconut oil in my cooking and as a beauty product. It’s great for sauteing and baking and makes the best moisturizer and hair treatment. I’m coconut-oil obsessed!

Dear Friends,
I know, I know. I’m always telling people what they ‘should’ do..eat more vegetables, try this recipe, appreciate and protect nature and its wonders..the list goes on and on. I’ve been nagging about the benefits of coconut oil for what? 30 years now? and it’s been awhile so I’ll have a go on it again. Honest, this is a miracle product. Here’s a few – increases good HDL cholesterol, decreases the bad, is anti-fungal, helps losing weight and tummy fat, excellent for skin care (hair and skin), reduces risk of dementia and more, but the best one is you can eat French Fries! Yup, it not only retains the health benefits but can heat to high enough temperature without burning and can fry things and one of our favorites is the much maligned French fry..the trick is the double cook! Oh, and the Omega brand we carry doesn’t have the strong coconut taste. Here’s first a link to the benefits and then the Russet potato recipe:

For the second commercial, we’ve located a group of women that make their own wonderful natural goats milk soap, hand wrap the bars in soft and chemical free sheep felt
that make wonderful gifts or spoil yourself with the luxuriant lather. Let’s support other small farms to keep them going! Available on our GreenStore.
We know many of our subscribers are enthusiastic about getting freshly harvested food from Seabreeze Family Farm. It would be helpful if you could take a photo of a plate you prepared with your farm share and post it on our Facebook page and on Next Door so your friends and neighbors could also benefit from your neighborhood’s locally grown food.
We look forward to seeing how you transform your Seabreeze ingredients.
If you would like to help support the farm and our work,
please consider signing up for our Hungry Heroes program that donates to appreciative San Diego military families or through Produce for Patriots, the non-profit founded by one of our clients, Rob M.
You’ll receive a personal Thank You note from the family that receives.
It’s a good thing all ’round.
Here’s to good food, friends, families and helping others.
Call or email me if you have any questions or need cooking tips.
May our food this week nourish, comfort and sustain you.
