Dear Friends,
I love this time of year, especially starting the days with the coastal blanket of fog. It’s amazing how much more gets done rather than a blazing hot summers day. All the winter squashes and gourds have been harvested and set away and we’re busy planting carrots, sweet turnips and radishes, kohlrabi, broccoli’s, cabbages, kales and many more. There’ll be some good soups and stews for our night meals.
If you have any special requests, let me know. We’ll see if we have or can source for you.
If you would like to help support the farm and our work, please consider signing up for our Hungry Heroes program (click here for more information) that donates to appreciative San Diego military families or through Produce for Patriots ( click here for more information), the non-profit founded by one of our clients, Rob M. And you’ll receive a personal Thank You note from the family that receives. It’s a good thing all ’round.
Here’s to good food, friends, families and helping others.
Call or email me if you have questions or need cooking tips.
May our food this week nourish, comfort and sustain you.
