September 10, 2018 Falling Leaves and Pumpkins
If we can’t afford to take good care of the land that feeds us, we’re in an insurmountable mess -Wendell Berry |

Dear Friends,
Saturday we had a small but mighty group of lovely people that helped harvest our gourds, spaghetti, acorn squash and pumpkins. Not a real big crop, particularly considering the amount of water they took with the heat these past couple of months, but enough to know it can still be done. Grateful is not a long word but comes with deep feeling. Thank you to all that helped and your encouraging sentiments.
We’re still urging everyone to purchase our latest batch of local honey. We have about a dozen jars of freshly poured available. This past week there were more published writings of the bee populations and diminishing habitat and environmental hazards contributing to their demise. Let’s keep our remaining ‘bee’ people doing what they’re committed to and support them. The latest batch of one pound jars are available by adding on to your deliveries through the Green Store with just a click!
Vacation time is here for many and our military families are always grateful to receive your share. Just drop us a note when you’ll be gone and we’ll see it’s given for good use.
Here’s to good food, friends, families and helping others.
Call or email me if you have questions or need cooking tips.
May our food this week nourish, comfort and sustain you.
