Dear Friends,
This is a lovely time of year when the sun sets earlier meaning a break from the long sunlight days of summer and work. It means stopping outdoor chores a little earlier and heading for the kitchen to conjure another delicious dinner. The coastal fog was thick this morning and a delicious pot of oatmeal with apples, nuts and raisins was a nourishing start of the day. Hope you try it yourselves.
Here are a couple of links to help any unfamiliar with some of our local fall fruits. In particular, pomegranates and passion fruit. Both are luscious in flavor and oh so good for you.
I’ll be making some spinach salad with pomegranates and hot dressing this week and thinking of roasting the carrots, beets, scallions, pepper, eggplant and garlic in the oven to caramelize them. From there, who knows?
Call or email me if you need cooking tips. Happy to oblige.
