Dear Friends,
The farm this morning is shrouded in coastal fog and the shapes of the hills and trees are slowly changing in value, much like a Gainsborough painting. It’s just lovely and all the vegetation is soaking up the moisture. There’s even a chance of rain this week.
We will be keeping with our normal delivery schedule for Wed and Thurs this week and next. Just had to give our little staff Mon and Tue off so we had to harvest most items on Saturday and although we’re confident all items will be fresh and up to par, just in case, please let me know if anything is amiss. The salad is the most delicate item so we will be harvesting and packing that one early on Wed, meaning we start extra early. Calendars have no mercy for a farm that never stops with it’s demands. Kendall and I will of course be covering everything here and if you need anything, just drop me a note.
Otherwise, best wishes, cheer and of course good health to all. We are grateful for your support and happy in our work.
If you would like to help support the farm and our work, please consider signing up for our Hungry Heroes program (click here for more information) that donates to appreciative San Diego military families or through Produce for Patriots ( click here for more information), the non-profit founded by one of our clients, Rob M. And you’ll receive a personal Thank You note from the family that receives. It’s a good thing all ’round.
Here’s to good food, friends, families and helping others.
Call or email me if you have questions or need cooking tips.
May our food this week nourish, comfort and sustain you.
Stephenie
